A 48- year- old man from Staffordshire has been charged with violence that occurred at a demonstration in Dover.

It happened on 30 January 2016 and the trouble is still being investigated by police.

Shaun Grimsley was arrested on Thursday 5 January. He has been bailed and will attend Folkestone Magistrates Court on Wednesday 8 February.

Detective Inspector Bill Thornton, from Kent Police, said:

‘We are continuing to work tirelessly to identify suspects for offences committed before and during the demonstrations in Dover.

`This latest charge shows that we work closely with police forces across the UK to make sure these arrests are made.

‘It also shows that it does not matter where you live, if you are suspected of committing a crime you will be tracked down, arrested and put before the courts.’
